Veyseloglu Group of Companies Speaks at SAP NOW Baku Business Forum

Veyseloglu Group of Companies, Baku, June 23 2022 – Veyseloglu Group of Companies (VGC) has joined the SAP NOW business forum held this week in the Azerbaijani capital, Baku. Speaking at the forum, Ozgur Kakmaci, the Head of Digital Transformation at VGC, described the nature and the strategic objectives of the large-scale digitalization process that has been taking place at the Group.

“What we’ve started at Veyseloglu Group of Companies is not a ‘one-off’ project, but rather a complex and long-running transformation that aims to overhaul the business processes and introduce solutions that will help us respond seamlessly to today’s business challenges. What we aim to achieve is to drive strategic, industry-focused, cloud-optimised, value-driven SAP transformation”, - said Mr. Kakmaci.

VGC launched a digital transformation project at its distribution company (Veyseloglu Distribution) at the start of the year. This is only the first stage of the project that will soon be implemented at the Group’s other outlets. 

Natavan Ibrahimova, the member of VGC’s Supervisory Board, explains the importance of digitalisation for the company: “Everyone is talking about digitalization these days. But for us, it’s just not optimisation of business processes. What we are trying to achieve here is a genuine step towards a more sustainable business model, mor transparency, and – ultimately – a much better customer experience for tens of thousands of people we serve on a daily basis.”

The Veyseloglu Retail Index includes the most purchased 4,317 products by customers of Veyseloglu Group of Companies. This index includes fresh food (FMCG), food and non-alcoholic beverages, alcohol and tobacco products. Each category is weighed according to sales volumes. As a result, it is possible to track change in average annual and monthly product prices.Compared to August 2020 in August 2021 the product prices included in the "Veyseloglu Retail Index" increased by 6.1%. Compared to August 2020 in august 2021 there was an increase by 4.0% in fresh food, 8.5% in food and non-alcoholic beverages and 5.6% in alcohol and tobacco products.The mission of Veyseloglu Group of Companies is to provide society with fresh, healthy, affordable and high quality daily consumer goods. Based on the presented Veyseloglu Retail Index, it is clear that the Group of Companies serves its mission by pursuing a reasonable and maximum stable pricing policy.

Compared to September 2020 in September 2021 there was an increase by 6,7% in fresh food, 9,5% in food and non-alcoholic beverages and 5,8% in alcohol and tobacco products.
